I was up till late last night writing the poem to be broadcast to the nation this morning. Two million people will be tuned in to Saturday Live . The guest on the show is Beverly Knight one of the most famous pop stars in Britian today. I get to spend an hour sat next to Ms Knight. For one week after this blogs entry you you can listen to the programme on BBC’s Listen Again facility. The other guest is Jack a paid up member of The
Papparazzi.
One of the main stories of the programme was the pre-record of a couple who had been in childrens homes and who were separated simply because they had fallen in love. After
forty years of seperation they met on the high street and within weeks of that meeting, married. It was beautiful heart stopping radio. The poem I had written was based on their experience. After I’d read it live on air Beverley wrote on a piece of paper “STUNNING!” and passed it to me. Later on I asked would she sign it for me and she did.
Personally I think she was talking about my rakish charm and dashing good looks!
