Spent the day at Southbank Centre in the Sun working on an adaptation of Benjamin Zephaniah’s book Refugee Boy. At five I cycle over to the British Library and read out the poems of Czeslaw Milosz to the public and with the public in the Piazza. To read a great poet under a great blue sky in the heart of London is a pleasure. Actor and poet Yusra Warsama (above) dropped by en route to Lithuania. Afterwards we got a coffee in Angel and talked. Evening falls. The Emperor’s Watchmaker has taste. Yusra is a rising star whom I guarantee you will hear more about through your television screen.
