The revenue streams of a professional poet always come from the following places:  TV,  Radio,  Theatre,  Live Performances,  Music collaborations, Recordings, Education, Residency, Commissions and Publications.  And that’s it.   Success in any one area has a positive effect on another.   You can sit back and watch any poet  develop a career along these lines.  Word of mouth is the way forward  but singularly the poets words are what give longevity.  Revenue follows the poet who is ruined if he or she follows the money.
