The greatest photographs of an event such as this are of the audience. In the evening as part of Dicken’s Bicentenary The British Council in Addis Ababa showed my film Internal Flight. Afterwards I spoke and read a poem. There were many Ethiopians in the audience including a princess, the lord mayor of Addis Ababa and the greatest living artist of Ethiopia, Aferwerk Tekle. And most wonderful of all was to see my sister Wuleta. In the picture below I am kissing her. With short films and inspired readings by Richard Finch it was magical, powerful, and uplifting. Worthy of Dickens bicentennial.
These are wonderful images Lemn!
