As I listen to the funeral of Nelson Mandela here are some of the great men and women of South Africa who spent much of their lives and ALL their childhoods under apartheid. They have welcomed me to the country they fought for. The SA story has been carried lifted and remembered by the artists. The great woman on the left I am laughing with the queen of South African song Sibongile Khumalo . Then below the King of Theatre in South Africa John Kani and me at Market Theatre then the national voice of discontent Eric Miyeni with The General “Sbu” and me in Melville, Then the kindhearted radio presenter Nomalanga and me and then after the most hilarious dinner my closest friend of all Lebo Mashile in Jo’burg 2010.
