Frontlines website states: “Frontlines mission is to transform the lives of vulnerable children by recruiting and developing outstanding individuals to be leaders in social work and broader society. Our new two-year leadership programme will offer high-achieving university leavers and career changers the opportunity to join one of Britain’s toughest and most rewarding professions. Participants will work as frontline children’s social workers in Greater London and Greater Manchester, undertaking child protection work which will change lives.”
At the opening ceremony the speakers were
Prime Minister David Cameron, Josh McAllister, Lord Andrew Adonis and myself. Frontline has got to be a step in the right direction. Social workers should be given this kind of high-level training and respect. How else can children get a better service. This not about disparaging great social workers who are already working in the field. Photographs: Top: Prime Minister David Cameron with Josh McAllister. Middle: me.
