This blog ran from August 2006 until August 2022. After 16 years it has come to a natural end. I write in a new place called Entoto Sunrise. My Chancellorship at the University of Manchester also comes to an end so I guess this photograph by Ben Paulden is appropriate. Goodbye.

Very moving.
It seemed strange I read this for the first time when foster children have come into my life through family.
Another connection is the social care system.
Lastly, having a granddaughter who has mixed heritage (lovely to see her relationships within her father’s family particularly. Very close and inclusive.

Hi I hope you receive this comment. I was Andrew McGinty half sister. Our mother was Marilyn Gouar. My name is Kathryn Hyland née McGinty and I was looking up any information on my brother who sadly passed away 2007.
He was a lovely guy and I remember him working on the fairs around 1990.
