Cooler than cool! To be honest I know little of Baaba Maal’s music, tho he is highly regarded I haven’t come into contact with his sounds. What do you recommend I listen to from his output?
I heard Baaba Maal in concert at the Albert Hall in 2005. He’s a mesmerising performer, huge charisma and energy! Do see him live if you ever get the opportunity. Meanwhile I’d recommend Firin’ In Fouta as one of his best albums. Baaba Maal has also guested on many compiliation albums so you may well have heard him without realsing it! His voice is unmistakeable, both electrifying and sweet, soulful and majestic, he has a unique quality that just makes you feel glad to be alive.
Cool! Trip of a lifetime. Hope the journalist gets to enjoy some of it with you
She’s coming.

My favourite Baaba Maal albums are Baayo and Missing You. Would love to see him live, only seen on t.v.
